The inauguration of the Ayush-supported CoE took place at the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, IIT Jodhpur, and was attended by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, the secretary of the Ministry of Ayush. During his visit, Kotecha delivered a lecture on "Ayurveda in the Digital Age: Harnessing Technology for Health and Wellness" and familiarized himself with the institute's operations.
AyurTech is a pioneering initiative in the field of precision health and medicine, aiming to integrate electronics, digital health, AI, and multi-omics technologies to establish evidence-based Ayurveda solutions within a transdisciplinary framework.
The primary objective of the new CoE is to develop an AI-driven integrative framework for population and individual risk stratification, enabling early actionable precision health interventions. IIT Jodhpur has allocated approximately 3760 sq.ft. of space for the AyurTech facility, dedicated to phenotyping, molecular biology, chemistry, device development fabrication, and characterization.
The establishment of AyurTech will promote technological immersion in different domains of Ayurveda, enhance employability in transdisciplinary fields, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, and support transdisciplinary research programs.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, the Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, expressed his honor in inaugurating the AyurTech Center of Excellence sponsored by the Government of India. He believes that "Ayurveda Vigyaan" represents the future of healthcare and congratulates IIT Jodhpur on this initiative. He hopes that the center will aid researchers in developing indigenous technologies and ultimately yield successful outcomes for the benefit of the public.
The Ministry of Ayush is actively exploring the fusion of AI and Ayurveda to advance the healthcare system and discover potential applications of AI in Prakriti diagnosis and phytomedicine.
